Perspective

Ok I am not as crabby as i was yesterday, firstly I went back to taekwando training after a two and a half year hiatus, its amazing how good you feel after exercise, or more importantly hitting something. Sparring went well yesterday, none of these new people knew who I was or what my fighting ability was, so I had an advantage there, I fared pretty good, and even did a little bit of instructing to some of the lesser skilled fighters. After sparring I asked about the old fighting team? it turns out most of them have been picked up by major teams, including one guy who I used to whoop on is now on Team Paul Mitchell (Probably the best martial arts team out there, but funnily enough sponsored by a hair product company). By the time I got home i was in so much pain, I could not sleeplast night, lesson to self, ease back into activity, you are not in college anymore. Today at school was no better physically, i could barely move. Classes were going pretty good, until one of my problem students came to me crying about a death which happened in his family this weekend. Watching a little boy cry uncontrollably about death really puts a lot of things into perspective, and made my stupid little problems feel insignificant. At lunch I found relief in muscle relaxers. The rest of my day went extremely smooth after that. I also received a phonecall from the "last prospective" after we had agreed to(more her telling me) to slow things down and cease contact. First instinct is to call her back, but she wanted time apart, so I will just wait for her to call again.

Man, I'm glad to hear that you started back with your training, but I also feel bad for your student.

Definitely make sure to stretch. It'll help a little with the soreness. After two years, pain is inevitable, unfortunately.
