My biological clock is kicking and I didn't even know it!

I have to say I really enjoy my new school, I have a lot of good kids, and some really funny ones, but for some reason this week a couple of the kids have started to latch onto me. Now in my school I am considered the cool teacher, you know we all had one when we were back in school, that one teacher whose class everybody wanted to be in. This year that mantle has fallen upon my broad shoulders, I don't know if it's because I am the new teacher or maybe I am just that cool to middle schoolkids. But I digress, let me get back to my story, on Monday I saw a student who looked a little distressed so I approached him and asked him is everything ok, all of a sudden the boy just hugged me and said his stomach hurt, I immediately jumped away in shock and disbelief, if you have ever seen the new version of Charlie and the chocolate factory, my reaction was very similar to willy wonka when the little girl hugged him. Now I am not a callous person, but the image I project to my students is not one of love and caring, in fact quite the opposite, I am very tough with my kids, almost drill sergeant like, which is why I was so surprised for this kid to latch onto me. Afterwards I felt bad for not being more compassionate with him, but damn that shit scared me.
Today I was just standing at school, when a one of my female student just came and stood next to me, I didn't pay any attention to it at first, but when I moved around this little girl would always be next to me. Me and my blunt self asked why are you following me, she did not say anything, and just walked away. I asked some of the older teachers what the deal was with this girl, they just replied, just a different girl from a single family home. Then to make matters worse I received an invitation to her and one of her friends Xmas vacation party. Now I am torn between making an appearance at this party just so that I can support my students or ignore the request of a little girl reaching out for a father figure.

Hot damn Future. That is tough.
I would say be a guide for those students that need it but I would not go to this young girl's party.
I would instead give her a Christmas card and mention that it might be inappropriate for you to attend.

Overall, though, they must be after Nanook cuz that is one hawt dawg. Be alert!
